gate in an ear

A finger print of color upon the forehead

opens a gate deep in an elephants ear.

A giant sigh soon enters a wandering cloud

that spills near the root of an orange tree.

In time the juice arrives enclosed in the fruit,

and my fingers sing into space for my friends.

I composed this raga inspired by the classical music of India and Persia. Typically the sound builds gradually in space until it blooms, ideally. Poem, photograph of devotional powders, from Puri, India, and music composed and digitally performed on santoor and sitar by Rosette Gault. About 3 minutes (mp3).
